OLYMPIC SUN and OLYMPIC ENGINEERING are two companies that specialize in the manufacture, distribution and installation of electromechanical equipment for: Cooling - Heating - Air Conditioning, Pumping, Water - Wastewater Treatment, Hydro-pneumatic Systems, Fire Protection and Energy Production.
OLYMPIC SUN has been operating since 1979 in the field of Energy Saving Systems.

We manufacture , high efficiency solar panels for the production of hot water, Electric water heaters,
STORAGE CONTAINERS - PREPARATION of hot water from 120 to 5000 litres.
Open and closed circuit solar water heaters for all uses.
Pool heating systems. Solar assisted central heating, solar cooling.
- PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS :
Monocrystalline and polycrystalline photovoltaic cells for electricity production from 10 to 280 Watt.
Devices and accessories for photovoltaic installations.
WIND ENERGY :
Wind turbines with power from 300 to 800 KW, for electricity production, water pumping. Hybrid systems (wind/photovoltaic).

OLYMPIC ENGINEERING deals with the installation of electromechanical equipment in large buildings, hotels and other technical projects in the private and public sector. More recently it has also been involved in the installation of advanced automation and control systems for electromechanical installations ( PLC - SCADA - MONITORING ). Since 1992 they have been operating under common management and the two companies together aim at the continuous improvement of products and services, consistency and speed of service delivery to our customers. We provide consultancy services in energy saving issues where by using programs we provide complete studies for the optimization of water heating systems. These services are provided FREE of charge to hotel units.

The storage containers of our company are approved by ELOT according to the European standards EN 60 335-2-21
- Outer casing made of AISI 304 stainless steel or 0,5mm thick prepainted steel plate.
- Internal vessel made of 3 mm thick steel plate with double glass coating at 850 Co according to DIN 4753.
- Closed circuit jacket of 1,5 mm thick steel sheet.
- Polyurethane insulation 60 mm thick with a density of 40 Kg /m 2 .
- Magnesium rod for protection against electrolysis.
- Electrical resistance 4000 Watt
- Connection element with central heating boiler.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE COLLECTOR
BACKGROUND : Made of 0,5mm thick ALUZINK ( galvaluminium ) steel plate and additionally passed with special electrostatic aluminium paint for perfect finish and high durability in time.
MONOSH : 50 mm fibreglass insulation with a vapour barrier under the absorption plate that retains the heat of the water in the collector for a prolonged period of time. 50 mm WOOD COTTON 50 mm IN THE ELECTIVE COLLECTOR
HYDROSKELETOS : Copper pipe Φ22 and Φ15 (Φ10 in the selective connector)
COLLECTOR'S SURFACE : Collective surface specially shaped with grooves and chemically treated with a special selective coating baked at 250 Co by an electrostatic painting assembly for maximum absorbency.

First calculate your hot water needs in litres/day; use the table below for a first estimate. Vary quite a bit depending on lifestyle ( from 37 to 110 litres or more per person ) season ( more use in winter ).
For small families living in large houses, the number of bedrooms plays a role in the right choice. For example, a system chosen for the needs of two people in a five-bedroom house will be inadequate to serve the needs of five people in the same house in the future.

Notes:
Add 55 litres for each additional person or 75 litres for each additional bedroom. Then select the Solar Water Heater using the next table depending on your needs.

OLYMPIC SUN manufactures domestic solar water heaters up to 500 litres.
ENERGY SAVING AND SOLAR WATER HEATER AMORTIZATION
An average Greek family uses 260 litres of hot water per day or 9.67 Kw/day or 3529 Kw/year. Using an electric water heater with an efficiency factor of 0.9 ( new ) we have 3.9 Kw / year at a cost of 345 EURO per year*. The solar water heater will save 80% of the heating cost i.e. 276 EURO per year. The solar water heater of this category ( OLSUN-150 ) with its equipment has a purchase cost of 734 EURO ( installed about 822 EURO ). The payback of the investment will reach 37,64% ROI ( 276 EURO / 734 EURO )with installation 33,6% ROI ( 276 EURO / 822 EURO ).

*Power price ( PPC ) 0.11 EURO / Kw. As the age of the water heater increases, the operating cost ( efficiency factor ) increases. Energy savings depend directly on the use of the water heater, temperature, climatic conditions of the area and electricity price.
