SOLAR WATER HEATER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS OLYMPIC SUN
Your solar water heater is an industrial product of excellent quality that occasionally needs some basic maintenance:
1) Keep the glass of your collector clean.
2) Make sure the mains pressure does not exceed 6 atmospheres. For this reason it is necessary to install a pressure reducer independent of the mains pressure.
3) In areas with hard water (Rethymno) the magnesium rod should be checked every year and replaced with a new one. The magnesium rod is located on the left side of the tank in a 1″ plug and changing it is a 5 minute job and can be done by you. In soft water areas the rod should be changed every year and a half to two years.
The rod can be purchased at minimal cost from our offices from our representatives and from plumbing stores.
4) Every one to two years it is advisable to vent the collector by slightly unscrewing the top cap of the collector, thus releasing any trapped air and increasing the efficiency of the system. It is also advisable at this time to clean the collector of any salts that may form by unscrewing the lower left-hand cap and allowing water to run.
BY FOLLOWING THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS YOU CAN BE SURE THAT YOUR SOLAR WATER HEATER WILL SERVE YOU FOR MANY YEARS
